Tongan born Taulupe Toby Faletau arrived Tonga 27 October to visit his only surviving grandparent in Tonga following the 2011 Rugby World Cup in New Zealand where he tried his first international try against South Africa on 11th of September.

“This trip just sort of happened. Not much has changed, at least where we are,” he said in reference to his mother’s hometown of Vaini.

Tongan born Taulupe Faletau, moved to Wales when he was only 7 after his father, Kuli, secured a contract. Kuli had played in the 1999 Rugby World Cup.

“Mum and Dad came down for the semi-finals. It’s special having family there and support from my cousins,” said Faletau.

Only 20 years old, Faletau was the only member of the Wales’ squad to have started in all 7 games for the RWC which just missed out on the Bronze to Australia.
